Beginner Instructional Trap starts at 6pm on Monday nights!  - See Calender

This slower paced class is intended for less experienced trap shooters who have taken our “Intro to Trap”, or our “Intro to Shotgun” class or have experience with their own shotgun but may feel overwhelmed by the fast pace or the mass crowds of the regular trap days.

In this class, you will shoot full rounds of trap (25 targets) just like on regular days, but at a pace where you can focus more on proper shooting techniques without worrying if you are “holding up the line.” You will be observed and instructed by NRA Certified Shotgun Instructors and Coaches.

THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR EXPERIENCED SHOOTERS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER NIGHT OF TRAP!!!

Student must provide their own shotgun and ammunition.
Recommended shotshell size: 2 3/4 Dram(1145 fps.) – 1 1/8oz loads of #8 shot
Each box of ammo is 1 round of trap(25).  
You can pay for the clays by the round or buy a trap card for $30 which is 10 rounds of trap.
If you need to borrow a shotgun you must give advance notice.

This is a 3.5 hour NRA-certified Shotgun Class with classroom training and range time. 

The purpose of this class is to teach the Knowledge, Skill and Attitude to shoot a moving target with a shotgun. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. All class materials, shotguns and ammunition will be provided.

Class will be taught on sunday Noon and will conclude around 3:30pm. Please bring eyes and ear protection, limited supplies will be available for those that do not have them.

About this event

1. Fee: $75 per person.
2. Details: 3/4 day fishing trip, about 6 hours.
3. Date: 7/22/25
4. Time: Boat will depart at 8am and return between 2-3pm.
5. Check-in 7:30am - 7:50am.

8. Ages: 8+ if you know your child can handle the trip, suggested 10+ for children (the boat doesn't return to the dock early unless there is an emergency).
9. Cancellation Policy: You may cancel up to 2 weeks prior to the trip which would be on or before Tue 7/8/25 by sending an email to vicepresident@andoversportsmensclub.org minus processing fees unless you find another member to buy your ticket(s).

Other details:

• Although the boat has a full galley, you can bring lunch, snacks and beverages.
• Gloucester Fleet has a liquor license and alcohol can be purchased from the boat.
• You may not bring your own Alcohol onto the boat.
• The  vessel has a zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs.
• If you like, you can bring a cooler.
• Bags of ice will be sold at the dock.
• You can also purchase a burlap sack for $2 to keep your catch in, with some ice.
• The crew will fillet each fish you catch for $1 per fish.
• The Captain and crew reserve the right to search all coolers or bags brought onboard.
• Temperature on the water is usually 10-15 degrees cooler. Gloucester Fleet always suggests dressing in layers, along with sunscreen and a hat. Whatever makes you comfortable.
